It's much overdue that I tell you about my plans for travelling & answer my most asked questions on the subject on here. So many people are shocked I'm actually going, including myself. I never thought I would get the imaginary balls to reach out of my comfort zone & live my life. But as they say "No body gets anywhere without taking risks".

1. What made you decide you want to go travelling?
I've thought about it for a very, very long time, years in fact! & I just never knew how to do it. I didn't think it was possible. I'd hear about people just getting up & leaving & thought there must be some kind of catch to all of this? Until my friends took the plunge & did it themselves. & that's when I knew it was possible. Knowing someone personally who has made it work is the real inspiration - Fallon & Zahra, thank you my loves <3

2. What was it that actually took you so long to go if you've wanted it for so long?
Good question. Where do I begin? Well, originally, Me & Fallon (my friend who's now in AUS since she left the UK) had talks of going in March 2014. This was absolutely perfect timing for me. I was a free spirit & ready for change. I'd been split from my boyfriend for a few months at this point, for no reason other than I needed to find the person I was. Don't worry, we're back together now ;) & I couldn't think of a better way to do that, than travel. This is where shit gets hard. Luckily I hadn't booked anything just yet (Fallon had, she was set) & in March 2014 when we had planned to go, I lost my Dad, suddenly & very, very tragically. My whole life crumbled & it was as if fate was telling me I wasn't ready yet. I had to take months off work to help me over come the depression & grieve & also to spend time with my Mum.  Long story short, the thought passed & I was too focused on just being the 'Paige' I used to be. No one else could tell I was different, that's the problem with depression, but I knew I was & I didn't like it.

3. How did you finally decide you needed to go?
It was Fallon & Zahra. Again lol. They're life savers. Zahra always told me the that travelling was important & I'm so proud of her for travelling a lot of the the world already, making people smile. She's been everywhere & blesses everyone with her positivity. This girl is one in a million. & then one random day sometime last year, I also received a Facebook message from Fallon. It was something along the lines of "Little P (that's my nickname from her haha, she's like the big sister I never had) you need to be here. It will change your life & will be the best thing you ever do" & that was it. That was all I needed. The same day I texted my boyfriend like "We need to go travelling, Fallon just sent me this" (I screen shotted the convo & sent it him). He was taken back because it came out of nowhere & it wasn't something he had wanted to do at the time. Months went on of me trying to persuade him & failing miserably until I got to the point of saying "well, whether you come or not, I'm going either way". I felt like this was selfish a bit; but at the same time it was one of my dreams & no one was going to stop me. Long story short, as time went on & I talked to him thoroughly about the reasons I wanted to go, I twisted his arm (not literally lol!) & he's now coming with me :) I knew you couldn't live without me really Matthew! ;) haha! I'm so glad you're coming with me <3

4. How did you book it & was it expensive?
I don't know if you have ever heard of a place called STA Travel? If not, they're a travel shop that are experienced in actual 'travelling', not just holidays. We literally popped into one of their stores one day when we were on a little weekend break away in Chester. (They're based all around the country so I'm sure you can find one near you). Anyway, when we got there, we was greeted by a lovely lady called Joanne. We told Joanne what it was we wanted to do & she got together the best prices for us. Altogether, it cost us around £1,300 each. We couldn't argue with that & booked it on the spot! :)

5. What did you get included for that price?
In that price we got our flights from Manchester > Dubai. 2 night stay in Dubai. Flights from Dubai > Sydney & a 7 night stay at Base Sydney. A long with 'The Starter Pack' that they recommend & also our year long working holiday visa. I think it's a bargain if you ask me! & for those who are just thinking about it & don't yet have the money. STA Travel allow you to put down a £49 deposit & pay the rest when you can. As long as it's all paid at least 10wks before of course! (I think it's 10wks anyway). Amazing right? :)

The main reason I wanted to do this post with the depressing bits included is to show you that you CAN get through anything if you want to. We all go through downs in life. Some worse than others. But, if we don't want to create the ups then what's the point? All I am saying is, if you want something, no matter what obstacles get in the way. You can do it. Having positive friends around you all the time too is definitely a big factor. Zahra constantly reminded me to fulfil my dreams & so did Fallon, even though she was on the other side of the world. Surround yourself with people you want to become & that inspire you & you will never go wrong.

Hope this has helped some of you & encouraged you to go for what ever it is you want in life <3
